Minister Bui Thanh Son Meets Vietnamese Intellectuals, Honors Japanese Friends; CEO Tran Quoc Dzung of OmiGroup Attends and Speaks at the Event

On August 7, 2024, during his official visit to Japan, Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Sơn held a meeting with representatives of the Vietnamese intellectual community living and working in Japan and awarded medals to Japanese friends who have made significant contributions to fostering relations between the two countries.


The meeting was attended by prominent representatives from the community of more than 5.000 members of the Association of Vietnamese Intellectuals in Japan (AVIJ). Among them were leading professors, experts, and engineers from top universities, research centers, and major corporations in Japan. These individuals have achieved many excellent academic and research achievements, have patents, and highly appreciated scientific research projects.

Representing OmiGroup, CEO Tran Quoc Dzung attended the event and delivered a speech to the Minister about the growth potential of the generative AI market, which is expected to reach $356 billion globally, with Japan contributing $13 billion by 2030. He highlighted that the healthcare sector holds particular promise for the application of generative AI in medical activities, enhancing patient experience, and optimizing hospital operations. As a technology company with many years of business in Japan, especially in the field of digital healthcare, Mr. Tran Quoc Dzung also emphasized Japan's capacity to develop generative AI as well as the opportunities to provide these solutions in Vietnam, meeting the need to improve the quality of Vietnam's healthcare services and the health of the Vietnamese people.

In this field, Mr. Tran Quoc Dzung expressed his desire for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to create conditions for OmiGroup in particular and Vietnamese businesses in general to have opportunities to integrate and access international knowledge. He hopes that the Ministry will facilitate the introduction of Vietnamese businesses at expert forums, share information, and create opportunities to participate in knowledge-sharing events organized by the Ministry.

After listening to the opinions of Vietnamese experts in Japan, Minister Bui Thanh Son expressed his deep gratitude to the Vietnamese intellectual community for their valuable contributions to the country's development. He also emphasized that the Vietnamese Government has issued a National Strategy for Research, Development, and Application of AI by 2030, and will issue a National Strategy for the Development of the Semiconductor Industry by 2030. This will be an opportunity for Vietnamese entrepreneurs, businesses, and intellectuals to seize and leverage to promote the overall development of both countries.
