Digital Health in Vietnam, Cooperation Potential for Japanese Businesses

On June 27, 2024, OmiJapan, a subsidiary of OmiGroup, in collaboration with the National Health Information Center of the Ministry of Health of Vietnam and MEJ - Medical Excellent Japan, successfully organized a seminar on the overview of the Vietnamese Digital Health market.The event took place in a hybrid format, attracting the participation of many government officials, representatives of the embassies of the two countries, and over 60 leading Japanese healthcare corporations.

 

The seminar not only provided information about Vietnamese health but also served as a platform for exchange and building strategic cooperation between Japan and Vietnam. Japanese enterprises expressed keen interest in exploring investment and development opportunities in the Vietnamese market in fields such as the use of artificial intelligence (AI), information and patient data security, software as a medical device (SaMD), digital medical education, and the application of advanced diagnostic and treatment technologies.

At the seminar, CEO Tran Quoc Dung delivered a presentation on the overview of the Vietnamese Digital Health market, analyzing the development potential, cooperation opportunities, support policies, and solutions to improve the quality of medical services.

A representative of the Vietnamese Ministry of Health, Mr. Nguyen Truong Nam, Deputy Director of the National Health Information Center  provided an overview of Vietnam's orientation and goals in developing Digital Health. He also shared the orientation for developing cooperation between Japanese enterprises and organizations with Vietnamese counterparts.

 

Ms. Sakurai Sanae, a representative of the MEJ organization, shared about the association's mission to promote and support Japanese enterprises in expanding into the international market, especially in Vietnam. Through OmiJapan's in-depth market research, MEJ believes that Vietnam is a very promising market. It is very suitable for Japanese enterprises that intend to expand their market to Southeast Asian countries.

The presentations of the speakers, along with the online Q&A program, opened up a panoramic view of the Vietnamese market, while also delving into topics of particular interest such as job opportunities for foreign doctors in Vietnam and the orientation of exploiting telemedicine. It also provided valuable information on how Japanese enterprises can participate and contribute to the Vietnamese Digital Health market. This seminar will promote strong bilateral cooperation opportunities.
