According to an OECD statistic, the country's healthcare spending is expected to exceed 400 trillion won by 2030, equivalent to 16% of GDP. One of the reasons for this situation is the outdated fee-for-service (FFS) payment model. To effectively address the rising medical costs, there is an urgent need to transition to a value-based healthcare (VBHC) approach, which prioritizes patient outcomes over the volume of services provided.
VBHC is no longer just a theoretical concept; thanks to the latest advancements in science and technology, particularly artificial intelligence (AI), such as AI agents, we can now bring this healthcare model to reality.
